New Patients

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Your first new patient Chiropractic appointment will consist of completing new patient forms, a consultation/history intake, physical examination and Chiropractic treatment. This initial new patient appointment will take on average 1 ½ to 2 hours of time. Subsequent chiropractic treatments will last 45 minutes to one hour. Dr. Beth provides a very detailed consultation/history and neurologic, orthopedic and chiropractic structural physical examination with emphasis on the spine. On average, the new patient physical examination with history takes 45 minutes+ in length. This may seem long if you are used to a more impersonal healthcare experience. However, the length of this appointment enables Dr. Beth to learn about you and ask a lot of important questions. She will be able to educate you on daily tasks that may be aggravating your condition and/or causing your condition to worsen over time.

Our clinic does not take unnecessary routine x-rays. Diagnostic Imaging will only be recommended on a case by case basis. If you have previous diagnostic records that you believe are important for Dr. Beth to review (such as X-ray reports and MRI or CT scan reports), please bring those reports/CD/films with you.

Dr. Beth's office is not a typical high volume chiropractic clinic where you will be seen 3 to 10 minutes a day, three times a week for months at a time by different staff doctors and assistants. Treatments in our office are very thorough and you will be seen only as necessary. The goal is to have you feeling better in fewer visits with the incorporation of physiotherapies in conjunction with the spinal adjustment.

Dr. Beth works closely with many healthcare specialists. Sometimes, the physical evaluation and history reveal symptoms/issues that in her judgment, warrant a referral to another specialist for additional evaluation and treatment. In the event that your condition is not something that will benefit from Chiropractic, you will be referred out to a specialist that can better serve and care for you.
